FRUIT OF THE WOMB: CARING COMPANION
The Support You Deserve
Who I Am
I am a wife and mother of 5! With the delivery of each of my children, I felt the need for a doula before I was ever familiar with the term. Women helping women usher new life into the world is not a new concept and it would thrill me to be a part of this chapter with you! My passion is giving new and veteran mothers the support they need to have the birth experience they desire.
I'm proud to support families on Cape Cod and throughout the South Shore.
How I Assist
We begin our doula/client relationship with one or two prenatal visits where we can get to know one another, along with your partner and other possible members of your birth team. Tell me about your ideal birth! Together we will create a plan and talk about your options and your partner's role during the birth.
I will be available for email and text support throughout the duration of your pregnancy, and on call for phone support from 3 weeks before your due date, to the time of your delivery!
BIRTH AND POSTPARTUM
Whether you choose the hospital, your home, or a birthing center, I will be at your side to offer you continuous support while you labor and during the birthing process. I can be as hands on or off as you choose: helping you with positions, comfort measures, breathing techniques, and affirmations! It is my goal to help make sure your experience is as calm and positive as possible.
Labor and delivery are not the end of the road! I will make a home visit within two weeks after your delivery. We will take the time to talk about our different perspectives of your birth. This will be an opportunity for you to share how you're feeling postpartum - physically, mentally, and emotionally. Let's process your experience together! Need help finding support groups or other new parent/postpartum resources? Let me help!
I have completed the DONA (Doulas of North America) International Birth Doula Workshop, the DONA Childbirth class, and have attended several births since I discovered my passion in early 2019.
* My birth doula fee is $1200. Half is due upon hire. Please inquire about payment plans and options *
Giving birth is scary, but I was constantly uplifted by the wisdom and encouragement that Jessica had given me, while standing by my bedside for my entire delivery.
It was my first time delivering so having someone who has been there (... 5 kids wow!) and knows the questions to ask helped me to stay in a positive mindset, even during the most challenging parts of my laboring journey.
I really appreciated Jess' willingness to speak up to the doctors/nurses about my wants and concerns, especially because I'm always nervous to do so. She was encouraging, had great tips on labor positions, and worked well with my husband. Having her at my birth was a great asset.
Highly, highly recommend Jessica. Leading up to the birth of my daughter, she was readily available for all of my questions and concerns, which made the decision to have her as a part of my birthing team, that much simpler. The support I received through the entire process was immensely professional and unequivocal. She literally helped me laugh and dance my way through labor; I barely noticed any of my contractions. She was so motivational and encouraging and clearly well educated in all things labor and delivery. She was able to coach me into positions that helped kickstart labor, and when it came down to “it’s time”, she held my legs and massaged them and let me squeeze the life out of her hands. My husband was there, and don’t get me wrong, he was great as well, but he would agree that he is so happy that we had her there through the whole process. Thank you Jessica for helping me bring life into this world; you are truly something special and I am so grateful to have had you with me in the delivery room! (She even snapped some pictures fresh out the womb!!)
